Power Rankings Spring Season - Week Three

2016 SPRING SEASON POWER RANKINGS

1	Emaan	2-0-0		A 6-2 demolish of Ihsan puts Emaan at the top of the Power Rankings this week.  The chemistry between Gehad Alhundi and Yousuf Sowdagar is well known but last game they combined for 11 points and are top two in league scoring with teammate Ibrahim Hindy in third.  Their offense is tops and goalie is strong so everything is looking great for this team.
2	Haya	2-0-0		Another win over a shorthanded opposition, Haya is taking advantage of their opponents woes so hard to judge how good this team really is.
3	Shukr	1-1-0		Injuries finally caught up with them and yet they gave Haya a big challenge last week despite a patchwork lineup.  They need to get healthy quickly as they do not want to lose ground in their quest for first place.
4	Ihsan	0-1-1		Ihsan was missing two forwards in their game last week but it was their team defense that was exposed in a 6-2 blowout loss to Emaan.  They need to get everyone back and on the same page as things looked bleak after Week Two.
5	Ikhlas	0-1-1		Ikhlas was off on a bye for Week Three and hopefully took the time to sort out their struggling offense as just a goal in their first two games is far below expectations considering the offensive talent on this squad.
6	Sabr	0-2-0		Sabr was off on a bye for Week Three and more than anything need to make sure that they get everyone to show up which has been a drag on this talented squads potential over their first two games.

Power Rankings Spring Season - Week Two

2016 SPRING SEASON POWER RANKINGS

1	Shukr	1-0-0		Shukr comes off a bye in Week Two and faces Haya who like Shukr won in their debut making this an early game for first place.  Rumours of some injury issues are cause for concern but Coach K is confident that his squad is still the team to beat this season.
2	Haya	1-0-0		Haya comes off a bye week and need to show that their Week One win wasn’t a fluke as they face one of the top contenders in Shukr.
3	Emaan	1-0-0		A close in in Week One was a surprise given how talented this squad is but they will take it as they look to Week Two and a chance to move to the top of the table with a win over Ihsan.
4	Ihsan	0-0-1		Ihsan came away with a 0-0 tie in their debut but surely feel that they should have gotten more had it not been for the heroics of Yusuf Kapoor in net for Ikhlas. A date with Emaan looms in Week Three which will be a good measure for this team.
5	Ikhlas	0-1-1		After showing up shorthanded in Week One and paying the price, Ikhlas recovered of sorts with a 0-0 tie against Ihsan who were making their debut.  Yusuf Kapoor stood on his head to get his team the tie so hopefully their offence can get going as they only have one goal to show after two games.
6	Sabr	0-2-0		A tough loss in Week Two to Emaan who were making their debut puts Sabr at the bottom of the table.  Missing players have hurt this squad and if they can get everyone to show up they can turn things around quickly.  They have Week Three off to figure things out.

Power Rankings Spring Season - Week One

1	Shukr	1-0-0		Shukr put in a strong effort as they defeated a strong Sabr squad.  Coach K believes he has built a championship team and demonstrated that in week one.
2	Haya	1-0-0		Haya looked much better than predicted in their opening game, Ikhlas came in shorthanded and Haya took full advantage to get the win.
3	Ihsan	0-0-0		A bye in week one, Ihsan will open their season against Ikhlas who is looking to bounce back from a loss in their opening game.
4	Emaan	0-0-0		A bye in week one, Emaan will open their season against Sabr who is looking to bounce back from a loss in their opening game.
5	Sabr	0-1-0		Sabr had an early 1-0 lead against Shukr but ended up losing 3-1 as Coach K outmaneuvered his opponent to get goals in transition.  Sabr battled the full game and get a chance to get their first win of the season against Emaan who will be making their season debut.
6	Ikhlas	0-1-0		Ikhlas opened the season with key players missing and paid the price as Haya got an early lead and Ikhlas was on their heels the rest of the game.  A chance for redemption in week two as they face Ihsan who is making their season debut.

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Playoffs

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS

1	Shukr	7-0-3		Shukr got the win last week and locked in their undefeated regular season.  They boast a strong balance with a deep set of forwards and an experienced defense core and solid work in net from Yusuf Kapoor.  They go into the playoffs as the top seed and playing well as a team.
2	Ikhlas	5-4-1		The Ikhlas struggles continue as they finished the season on a three game losing streak but still managed to hang onto second place as Haya was not able to capitalize.  They benefit from the first round bye and need it to figure out where things went wrong during their recent slide.
3	Haya	5-5-0		Despite losing their last two games (and not taking advantage of the chance to pass Ikhlas into second), Haya managed to hold onto third place by virtue of a tie-breaker over Emaan.  Now a first round game against Sabr awaits whom they defeated twice in the regular season with both games ending with a 3-2 score.
4	Emaan	4-4-2		Emaan had an unexpected run at the end of the season which saw them undefeated in their final four, winning the last three games.  They managed to tie Haya in the standings but a tiebreaker sees them end in fourth.  Their reward is a tough first round game against Ihsan.
5	Ihsan	3-5-2		Ihsan ended their season on a high with a gritty 3-2 win over Ikhlas.  With their full roster they boast a strong line-up and despite the regular season struggles, Coach K feels he will be able to get this team to the finals.
6	Sabr	2-8-0		Sabr were defeated 5-0 in their final game but with only one sub the score doesn't do their effort justice.  Down 1-0 at the half they finally brokedown in the second half but a great effort by the players who showed up.  Sabr now gets to face Haya in the first round of the playoffs who swept them in the regular season.

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Week Ten

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS

1	Shukr	6-0-3		Shukr got a win after a pair of ties and are still undefeated going into the final week - that said their 9-2 win over Ihsan came against an empty net.  The win last week clinches Shukr first place and a bye into the semifinals. Shukr closes their regular season with a game against Haya whom they defeated earlier in the season by a 3-0 score.
2	Ikhlas	5-3-1		Ikhlas has now lost back to back games and not only saw their chance to jump into first vanish as now they are clinging onto second place.  Their loss last week to last place Sabr had to hurt on many levels as Waqar Khan was not able to have the big game his team wanted to take the lead in league scoring. Ikhlas closes out their season against Ihsan and need a win to clinch the second seed.
3	Haya	5-4-0		Haya went into their game against Emaan short their regular goalie and a pair of key players in Salman Khalid and Salman Syed, the loss of those key players showed as they fell behind early and were not able to recover.  The loss also cost Haya the chance to leapfrog over Ikhlas into second place. Haya will finish their season against first place Shukr and still have a chance to move up in the standings but must win their game first before looking for help.
4	Emaan	3-4-2		Emaan has surprisingly won their last two and are undefeated in their last three games.  They took advantage of a depleted Haya in Week Nine but a win is a win.  Strong play has seen Emaan jump into fourth where they are pretty much locked in as they cannot move up to third with a win and the worst they can finish is in fifth. Emaan meets Sabr in their last game of the season.
5	Ihsan	2-5-2		Ihsan got mauled by Shukr last week, the empty net doing them in as Shukr showed no mercy to their shorthanded opponent.  Ihsan is winless in their last five games and need to turn things around going into the playoffs. Ihsan will face Ikhlas in their regular season finale
6	Sabr	2-7-0		Sabr got their second win of the season with a surprising defeat of Ikhlas.  Despite their struggles this season, a Sabr win combined with an Ihsan loss could see them move up to fifth. Sabr will face Emaan in their regular season finale and have Ahmad Hathout looking to wrap up his second consecutive scoring title.

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Week Nine

1	Shukr	5-0-3		Back to back ties in games where they didn't play as well as they could have but still came away with a point.  Things are going well for this team that has found ways to compensate for Captain Fahad Mallik being without at a point this season.  Salman Alvi came off the IR and will give this team a boost.
2	Ikhlas	5-2-1		A subpar performance cost them a chance to jump into a tie for first place, they were missing a pair of defenseman but this team is too good to drop a game they way they did last week.
3	Haya	5-3-0		Haya believe they had a statement game last week with their defeat of Ikhlas, the win gives them four in a row and puts Haya just a point out of second place behind Ikhlas.
4	Emaan	2-4-2		A surprising turn as Emaan is now undefeated in their last two games, they ground out a win over Sabr last week and have surprisingly jumped into fourth place - something that seemed highly unlikely during their six game winless streak
5	Ihsan	2-4-2		Ihsan showed some grit in a last second tie against Shukr - but they are winless in four now and that won't do for this veteran squad who have now dropped to fourth.  They have relied heavily upon youngsters Humza Chaudhry and Arsalan Mian who have answered the call but someone else needs to step up as well; they get a rematch against Shukr in Week Nine
6	Sabr	1-7-0		Another week and another Sabr loss, hard not to feel bad for the guys that show up as they faced Emaan with only two lines last week and were not able to overcome the short bench.  Ahmed Hathout wasn't able to get much going last week but still leads the league in all offensive categories.  Their power play had many chances to turn last weeks game in their favour but were unable to score when they needed it the most

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Week Eight

1	Shukr	5-0-2		Still the undefeated, Shukr got a bit of a scare from Emaan but kept working and salvaged a tie.  Balanced scoring has only their goalie and bizarrely their Captain Fahad Mallik without at least a point this season.  As soon as they get Salman Alvi off the IR they are loaded for a strong playoff run.
2	Ikhlas	5-1-1		Another strong effort sees Ikhlas keep pace as they try to lock up a top-two seed.  This time a close win over Ihsan showed their ability to win all types of games.  Firasath Ali made his debut and seemed comfortable with his new team right away.
3	Haya	4-3-0		Haya extended their winning streak to three with a comeback win over Sabr which keeps them in the hunt for second place.  Their offense continues to struggle but they got a lot of shots on net so its only a matter of time before the goals start coming.
4	Ihsan	2-4-1		Ihsan gave Ikhlas a solid effort and a late goal did them in last week.  The teams discipline was better and not having to kill silly penalties was surely a nice treat for this team - something they need to continue for the rest of the season.
5	Emaan	1-4-2		The winless streak continues to six games, this time Emaan gave up a 3-1 lead and was fortunate not to lose this one as Shukr had some great chances in the final minute.  Attendance has been a major issue for this team and with just three games left time is short to build chemistry before going into the playoffs.
6	Sabr	1-6-0		Sabr took another hard loss, this time they had a 2-0 lead and looked solid to get a win but bounces didn't go their way and saw them give up three unanswered goals for a 3-2 loss to Haya.  Ahmad Hathout continues to carry the load for this team but needs some help and the team needs to be more committed to defense as a unit if they want to turn things around from having given up the most goals this season.
