Power Rankings Tier-2 - Playoffs

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS
RANKTEAMRECORDUP/DOWNCOMMENTS
1Shukr7-0-3Shukr got the win last week and locked in their undefeated regular season.  They boast a strong balance with a deep set of forwards and an experienced defense core and solid work in net from
Yusuf Kapoor.  They go into the playoffs as the top seed and playing well as a team.
2Ikhlas5-4-1The Ikhlas struggles continue as they finished the season on a three game losing streak but still managed to hang onto second place as Haya was not able to capitalize.  They benefit from the first round bye and need it to figure out where things went wrong during their recent slide.
3Haya5-5-0Despite losing their last two games (and not taking advantage of the chance to pass Ikhlas into second), Haya managed to hold onto third place by virtue of a tie-breaker over Emaan.  Now a first round game against Sabr awaits whom they defeated twice in the regular season with both games ending with a 3-2 score.
4Emaan4-4-2Emaan had an unexpected run at the end of the season which saw them undefeated in their final four, winning the last three games.  They managed to tie Haya in the standings but a tiebreaker sees them end in fourth.  Their reward is a tough first round game against Ihsan.
5Ihsan3-5-2Ihsan ended their season on a high with a gritty 3-2 win over Ikhlas.  With their full roster they boast a strong line-up and despite the regular season struggles, Coach K feels he will be able to get this team to the finals.
6Sabr2-8-0Sabr were defeated 5-0 in their final game but with only one sub the score doesn't do their effort justice.  Down 1-0 at the half they finally brokedown in the second half but a great effort by the players who showed up.  Sabr now gets to face Haya in the first round of the playoffs who swept them in the regular season.

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Week Ten

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS
RANKTEAMRECORDUP/DOWNCOMMENTS
1Shukr6-0-3Shukr got a win after a pair of ties and are still undefeated going into the final week - that said their 9-2 win over Ihsan came against an empty net.  The win last week clinches Shukr first place and a bye into the semifinals.
Shukr closes their regular season with a game against Haya whom they defeated earlier in the season by a 3-0 score.
2Ikhlas5-3-1Ikhlas has now lost back to back games and not only saw their chance to jump into first vanish as now they are clinging onto second place.  Their loss last week to last place Sabr had to hurt on many levels as Waqar Khan was not able to have the big game his team wanted to take the lead in league scoring.
Ikhlas closes out their season against Ihsan and need a win to clinch the second seed.
3Haya5-4-0Haya went into their game against Emaan short their regular goalie and a pair of key players in Salman Khalid and Salman Syed, the loss of those key players showed as they fell behind early and were not able to recover.  The loss also cost Haya the chance to leapfrog over Ikhlas into second place.
Haya will finish their season against first place Shukr and still have a chance to move up in the standings but must win their game first before looking for help.
4Emaan3-4-2Emaan has surprisingly won their last two and are undefeated in their last three games.  They took advantage of a depleted Haya in Week Nine
but a win is a win.  Strong play has seen Emaan jump into fourth where they are pretty much locked in as they cannot move up to third with a win and the worst they can finish is in fifth.
Emaan meets Sabr in their last game of the season.
5Ihsan2-5-2Ihsan got mauled by Shukr last week, the empty net doing them in as Shukr showed no mercy to their shorthanded opponent.  Ihsan is winless in their last five games and need to turn things around going into the playoffs.
Ihsan will face Ikhlas in their regular season finale
6Sabr2-7-0Sabr got their second win of the season with a surprising defeat of Ikhlas.  Despite their struggles this season, a Sabr win combined with an Ihsan loss could see them move up to fifth.
Sabr will face Emaan in their regular season finale and have Ahmad Hathout looking to wrap up his second consecutive scoring title.

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Week Nine

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS
RANKTEAMRECORDUP/DOWNCOMMENTS
1Shukr5-0-3Back to back ties in games where they didn't play as well as they could have but still came away with a point.  Things are going well for this team that has found ways to compensate for Captain Fahad Mallik being without at a point this season.  Salman Alvi came off the IR and will give this team a boost.
2Ikhlas5-2-1A subpar performance cost them a chance to jump into a tie for first place, they were missing a pair of defenseman but this team is too good to drop a game they way they did last week.
3Haya5-3-0Haya believe they had a statement game last week with their defeat of Ikhlas, the win gives them four in a row and puts Haya just a point out of second place behind Ikhlas.
4Emaan2-4-2A surprising turn as Emaan is now undefeated in their last two games, they ground out a win over Sabr last week and have surprisingly jumped into fourth place - something that seemed highly unlikely during their six game winless streak
5Ihsan2-4-2Ihsan showed some grit in a last second tie against Shukr - but they are winless in four now and that won't do for this veteran squad who have now dropped to fourth.  They have relied heavily upon youngsters Humza Chaudhry and Arsalan Mian who have answered the call but someone else needs to step up as well; they get a rematch against Shukr in Week Nine
6Sabr1-7-0Another week and another Sabr loss, hard not to feel bad for the guys that show up as they faced Emaan with only two lines last week and were not able to overcome the short bench.  Ahmed Hathout wasn't able to get much going last week but still leads the league in all offensive categories.  Their power play had many chances to turn last weeks game in their favour but were unable to score when they needed it the most

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Week Eight

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS
RANKTEAMRECORDUP/DOWNCOMMENTS
1Shukr5-0-2Still the undefeated, Shukr got a bit of a scare from Emaan but kept working and salvaged a tie.  Balanced scoring has only their goalie and bizarrely their Captain Fahad Mallik without at least a point this season.  As soon as they get Salman Alvi off the IR they are loaded for a strong playoff run.
2Ikhlas5-1-1Another strong effort sees Ikhlas keep pace as they try to lock up a top-two seed.  This time a close win over Ihsan showed their ability to win all types of games.  Firasath Ali made his debut and seemed comfortable with his new team right away.
3Haya4-3-0Haya extended their winning streak to three with a comeback win over Sabr which keeps them in the hunt for second place.  Their offense continues to struggle but they got a lot of shots on net so its only a matter of time before the goals start coming.
4Ihsan2-4-1Ihsan gave Ikhlas a solid effort and a late goal did them in last week.  The teams discipline was better and not having to kill silly penalties was surely a nice treat for this team - something they need to continue for the rest of the season.
5Emaan1-4-2The winless streak continues to six games, this time Emaan gave up a 3-1 lead and was fortunate not to lose this one as Shukr had some great chances in the final minute.  Attendance has been a major issue for this team and with just three games left time is short to build chemistry before going into the playoffs.
6Sabr1-6-0Sabr took another hard loss, this time they had a 2-0 lead and looked solid to get a win but bounces didn't go their way and saw them give up three unanswered goals for a 3-2 loss to Haya.  Ahmad Hathout continues to carry the load for this team but needs some help and the team needs to be more committed to defense as a unit if they want to turn things around from having given up the most goals this season.

Power Rankings Tier-2 - Week Seven

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS
RANKTEAMRECORDUP/DOWNCOMMENTS
1Shukr5-0-1Undefeated this season, best offense, second best defense, what's not to like?
Yusuf Kapoor has been solid and this team is rolling right now.
2Ikhlas4-1-1Ikhlas has been hot on the heels of Shukr all season, some recent moves have given them some more offensive punch and Waqar Khan continues to be the rocket fuel for their engine
3Haya3-3-0Their two game winning streak has then jumping into 3rd place but they need to get their offense going as currently it is tied for the worst in the league with just 14 goals scored.
4Ihsan2-3-1It's been a rough ride for Ihsan this season, players missing, terrible penalties and close games that just didn't go their way.  Coach K has been trying to get this team turned around but needs to produce some results soon.
5Emaan1-4-1A five game win less streak has to be a heavy weight on the team - the silver lining if there was any is that many of their games have been close so perhaps all it will take is some minor tweaks to get back to winning.
6Sabr1-5-0Sabr has faced many trials this season, a short bench, empty net and weak team defense has put them in last.  But as bad as things have been they have the leagues leading scorer in Ahmad Hathout so if they get better attendance and play better as a unit they have hope to turn this around.

Power Rankings Tier-2 - December 10,2014

2015 FALL LEAGUE TIER-2 POWER RANKINGS
RANKTEAMRECORDUP/DOWNCOMMENTS
1Ikhlas6-2-1What's green and can leap? If you guessed Ikhlas you're right! This time they did over two teams to claim top spot in the standings. This team is getting strong by game and have been rolling over their opponents. If they beat Haya they will rightfully claim the throne.
2Haya5-1-3After their third straight tie the Mighty Haya have finally fallen from the clouds. The offense has slowed along with MVP Waseem Bangash. Top spot is still up for grabs but they'll have to climb over Ikhlas. Will we witness one more Haya offensive outburst?
3Zuhd5-2-2So close yet so far away. We've heard that before. Zuhd now knows the feeling of losing a victory in the final minutes. It might sting at first but we know this team is too talented and can overcome the pain. Second place is inevitable but with some help first may be achievable.
4Ridha3-6-0Surely this team wants to make the playoffs... right?? It's hard to tell. They were served Yaqeen on a platter but couldn't digest it. The outcome was putrid. Bring out the Pepto and calm those nerves. Now they have to go all in with Shukr. Winner makes the playoffs.
5Shukr1-4-4How do you stay in a playoff race with just one win? Ask Shukr. With big help from Yaqeen Shukr lives to play another day. There's only one option: win the game. Will this final game of the season finally awaken their slumbering offense?
6Yaqeen2-7-0A character win for Yaqeen last week. They could have folded considering they were eliminated but put up a solid game to play spoiler. If they can repeat the feat they may even finish the season outside of last place. Now wouldn't that be something!
